eMaryland M@rketplace State Government procurement portal The future of procurement has arrived! eMaryland M@rketplace is the first of its kind State Government procurement portal, providing the State of Maryland with a tool to handle the full spectrum of procurement activity. State buyers will now use the Internet to post procurement opportunities, receive bids and make purchases. Buyers can establish real-time communications and business transactions with vendors in a paperless environment. Procurement officers can purchase or solicit bids for goods and services in minutes, preventing rising costs because of change orders, inflation and future availability of goods and services. The average administrative cost per order dropped by an estimated $100. The system reduces maverick buying, increases buying power through intergovernmental cooperative procurement and heightens competition across a wider spectrum of suppliers. eMaryland M@rketplace vendors save by accessing one portal to conduct business with participating buyers rather than having to visit thousands of procurement officers throughout the state. http://www.emarylandmarketplace.com/emm/index.cfm?page=directory
